HELP WITH THE CULLODEN PROJECT The history of Scotland and the world was changed forever in just one hour on April 16, 1746 at Culloden Battlefield. As Global Scots, your support is urgently sought to help preserve this hallowed ground and educate future generations about its historic significance. The defeat of Bonnie Prince Charlie and his Jacobite supporters by the Hanoverians at Culloden resulted in a period of major emigration to the New World. The cruel aftermath of the battle is one of the reasons there are almost 14,000,000 Americans of Scottish descent. You can be instrumental in safeguarding this iconic piece of your Scottish heritage. Thanks to ongoing restoration by the National Trust for Scotland, windswept Drumossie Moor, on which the battle was fought, looks much the same as it did on that fateful day. The site is now a place of somber reflection, the gravesite of over 1,000 partisans on both sides of the battle. It evokes a visceral response in over 250,000 visitors per year. Such is the profound significance of this battle and its aftermath, that the National Trust for Scotland has launched an impassioned international appeal to help fund a new on-site, state-of-the-art Visitor Centre and ongoing archeological research. Now in its final funding phase, just a further $1 million is necessary for the centre's completion and opening in the late autumn of this year. Corporate sponsorships are available from as little as $5,000. Individual donors can become part of this historic sites very fabric by sponsoring a $135 engraved paving stone for the new Visitor Centre. Corporate sponsors please contact RobertTitley@aol.com or call him at 917 690 8418 for a complete Culloden Corporate Information kit.
